The "Hanfwerke Füssen Immenstadt AG" was a merger of the "Mechanischen Seilerwarenfabrik Füssen" (founded in 1861) and the "Mechanischen Bindfadenfabrik Immenstadt" (founded in 1857). It was formed in 1920 due to increasing competitive pressure. The merger of the two factories consolidated approximately half of Germany's total hemp spinning and twine production. During the 20th century, the industry changed. After the Second World War, structural adjustments began to meet new consumer goods and packaging requirements. The company constantly shifted the production towards modern packaging materials. The company is still producing under "monta Klebebandwerk GmbH".
