Wooden pegs are essential in the traditional way of shoemaking. The pegs are new and made by a manufacturer in Germany. Wooden pegs are used to fix the outsole, the heel layers and the shanks. Before nailing you have to pierce the leather with an awl.
My advice: Nail them while the leather is still damp.
I recommend the 14,3 mm and 15,9 mm pegs for normal dress shoes. The 19,1 mm pegs are used in boot making.
